FRUITPORT HIGH SCHOOL: 3
The Tigers went on the road to battle Fruitport and came home with a 5-3 victory. The girls jumped on the board with the first point from Elayne Montombo and Madison Brooks winning 6-0 6-0. Seniors Sami and Alaina at 2 doubles came back after dropping the first set 3-6 to win the second set 6-4 and the match, 10-8 in the third. The #1 doubles team of Sara Arends and Lauryn Maynard pulled out their match in a thrid set as well, 6-4 3-6 10-3. At #1 singles, Jada defeated the Trojan's top player 6-3 4-6 10-4. The last match left on, with the match held in the balance, featured our freshman Ana and Jocee. The young Tigers took the 2 and 1/2 hour match 7-6(9-7) 6-7(5-7) 10-7 to seal the win. The ladies head to Lansing Catholic Friday and play in Novi Saturday.
