SHELBY HIGH SCHOOL: 6
The Grant Defense led the Tigers to a 37-6 victory over the Shelby Tigers. The defensive effort was led by senior Jarrett Railling who had 10 tackles, including a tackle for a safety. Junior Brett Long had eight tackles and an interception for a touchdown. Junior Trevor Lowry completed the defense scoring with a 23-yard interception for a touchdown.
Additionally, the Tigers were able to control the line of scrimmage on the offensive side of the ball. The line paved the way for over 175 yards rushing. Junior Orion Evans lead the charge with 99 yards. Junior Quarterback Brendan Keelean added two touchdowns on the ground and threw for another, completing a deep ball down the sidelines to Brett Long.
Next week the Tigers are on the road at Central Montcalm. Kickoff is at 7:00 pm.
