KENT CITY HIGH SCHOOL: 65
The host Tigers dropped the season opener to Kent City, 53-65. The Tigers were up by 2 at the end of the 1st quarter, but trailed by 11 at half. They fought back to within 2 in the 2nd half, but Kent City pulled away down the stretch.
Carter Chase led the team in scoring with 16 points, followed by Brett Long & Orion Evans with 11. Diesel Rose chipped in 9, highlighted by a steal and lay-up in the first half.
Kent City was led by Eli Carlson with 26, followed by Shawn Anderson with 17.
