The Tigers welcomed conference rival, Fremont, to their home court in an important early-season match-up on Tuesday night. After a tough loss on the road Friday night, the Tigers needed a big game to bounce back and get into the win column again. "This is a tough stretch of games we are going through and picking up a win to end our two-game skid was huge for us," said coach Josh Delamater. The Tigers were propelled to the win by a 23 point third quarter. Delamater added, "During halftime, we talked about finding open teammates and getting quality shots. The girls did a fantastic job of that in the third and it really opened up the scoring for us." The game came down to free-throw shooting at the end, including two huge free throws from senior Trinity Swanson to help seal the game. Sara Arends led the Tigers with 14 points and Chloee Chase added 8. Julie Ashbaugh led the team with 10 rebounds and Chase grabbed 6. Makenzie Ritz played a great game for the Tigers as well. "Makenzie hit three big baskets for us tonight and played some incredible defense on Fremont's bigs," said Delamater. "Her defense and rebounding tonight were super!" Next up for the Tigers are the Newaygo Lions.
