The Tigers opened up conference play on the road versus an always tough Whitehall team tonight.  The Grant squad got early wins from #1 singles Karlton Zerlaut and #2 singles Carter Chase.  Payton Swinehart and Diego Krepps earned a hard fought victory at #3 doubles.  The remaining doubles flights all went 3 sets, but the Tigers couldn't pull any of them out and found themselves down 3-4 in the match.  Only the 3 singles match was still on.  That position is played by senior co captain Dominick Brock. He had lost the first set 6-3 and was down 2-5, facing triple match point.  However, Dom clawed his way back erasing 5 match points and won the second set 7-5.  He then went on to win the deciding set 6-0 to secure a tie for the team.  Not a bad present for Dominick, who's birthday is today.  The Tigers stay on the road Monday, traveling to another difficult foe facing Ludington.
