The 2018 Coastal Conference Tennis Tournament finished up on Monday afternoon and into the evening. Ludington claimed the title with 42 points. Whitehall was 2nd with 39, and the Grant TIgers finished with 32. North Muskegon had 27, WMC 19 and Fremont had 9. The Tiger's #1 singles, junior Karlton Zerlaut, won the Championship for the second year in a row with a 6-1 6-1 win. Carter Chase, Grant's #2 singles player, won the flight championship 7-5 7-6. The #4 singles championship also saw a Grant player fighting for the title, after senior Ben Dubbink upset the #1 seed in the semi finals late Saturday. The doubles teams of Payton Swinehart and Diego Krepps at #2 dubs and Kyle Bay and Ryan Hether at #4 doubles took the 3rd place finishes. The Tigers play Thursday at the Traverse City Regional taking on 2 of the top ten teams in the state, looking to get to the state finals for the first time in school history.
