Semi finals at the Fruitport Tournament

The Grant Tigers fought their way through a tough pool to emerge into the Gold Bracket at the Fruitport Invitational on Saturday. They won 25-23 and 25-22 over Coopersville to open the day. Then they defeated Montague 25-17 and 25-13. They suffered their first loss to West Ottawa 13-25 and 24-26.
After pool play Grant advanced to the Gold quarter finals to play Whitehall and win 25-18 and 25-16. This set Grant against Coopersville once again. This time Coopersville had the upper hand. Grant lost 17-25 and 23-25.
Stat leaders on the day were Olivia Keelean with 32 kills followed by Kylie Patton with 18 kills. Nicole Whan added 84 assists. Kirstyn Throop had 40 digs and Jill Arends added 34 digs. Jill also added 9 service aces while Megan Wegener added 8 aces for the day.
Tje tigers resume league play home on Tuesday. Their record is currently 19-7-1.
