Varsity Volleyball split with Fruitport at the Fruitport tournament with scores 20-25, 25-22.  And the Tigers also lost 3 tough matches to Montague 22-25, 19-25, Traverse City West 21-25, 20-25, and West Michigan Christian 17-25, 14-25.  I thought this tournament had some really good teams, and we competed well against them.  Our overall record for the week was 4-3-1, which is great for the amount of games we played.  We definitely showed some fatigue today but overall I thought we competed well.  Tournament leaders were Kirstyn Throop with 54 digs, Baylee Miller added 23 digs and Megan Wegener had 22.  Megan led us in kills with 20, followed by Ashley Longcore with 15 and Savannah Passage with 14.  Savannah led us in blocks with 6, and Hayley Wegener led us in assists with 31 while Sara Arends contributed 24.  Sara and Baylee led us in aces with 2 apiece.   Next match is Tuesday at Reed City for our 2nd league match followed by a tournament at Cadillac next Saturday.
