KENT CITY HIGH SCHOOL: 1
Grant Varsity took 2nd at Kent City Volleyball Tournament today, going 3-1-1. In pool play, Grant defeated Muskegon Orchard View 25-18, 25-15, Kellogsville 25-5, 25-7, and split with Kenowa Hills 18-25, 25-16. In bracket play, Grant defeated Kenowa Hills in the semi-finals 25-16, 22-25, 17-15. In the finals against Kent City, the Tigers lost a hard fought battle in 3 sets 22-25, 25-16, 11-15. Overall it was a very positive day for the Tigers! Our overall record is 19-14-4 and our next match is Tuesday night at Newaygo following the JV game.
Leaders for the day were: Kirstyn Throop with 118 digs, Hayley Wegener with 129 assists, Megan Wegener with 47 kills, Savannah Passage with 8 blocks, and Hayley Wegener and Sara Arends with 6 aces each.
