Congratulations to Grant Varsity Volleyball for winning another conference championship this week, going 6-1 to tie with Fremont as co-champions.  The Tigers have been Conference Champions for 7 years in a row since 2013 and that is not an easy thing to repeat each year.  I'm proud of every player for their work, effort, great attitude, making the team a priority, and helping our program to be successful.  Tigers overall record is 25-15-5.

Today, the Varsity Volleyball team finished as Silver Champions at the Williamston Varsity Volleyball Tournament with 4 wins, 1 loss, and 1 tie.  It was an awesome team effort in the battle for the championship and I'm proud of the girls for their teamwork, their energy, and for finishing strong. 

Box Scores:  Pool play, Grant tied with Centreville, 19-25, 25-20; Grant lost to St. John's 17-25, 17-25; Grant defeated New Lothrop 26-24, 25-10; Bracket play, Grant defeated Williamston 25-17, 25-19; In the semi-finals, Grant defeated Fowlerville 16-25, 25-22, 15-11; in the silver championship Grant defeated Tecumseh 25-15, 25-21.

Leaders for the day were:  Kirstyn Throop with 5 aces, 93 digs; Savannah Passage with 29 kills and 6 blocks; Ashley Longcore with 25 kills, 4 blocks, 17 digs; Hayley Wegener with 80 assists, 6 aces and 43 digs; Megan Wegener added 18 kills and 36 digs; Baylee Miller had 17 kills and 19 digs; Jaycee Rider added 4 aces and 30 digs; Sara Arends led us in aces with 10 and added 14 assists and 20 digs.  Trinity Swanson chipped in 5 aces and Kassidy Doornbos added 21 digs on the day. 

The Tigers last regular season matches will be next Saturday at Central Montcalm.
